This is the main road from Potasi to Sucre in Bolivia. The road is mainly paved with occasional roadworks, with some great scenery and switchbacks. At 4000m it descends to 3000m and Sucre is a nice place to stay for a day or so. Potasi has the silver mines, so this is usually a side trip, prior to heading across the Salyar del Uyuni
