Spectacular ride. The scenery is breathtaking the whole way and the lava fields are amazing. I rode this just before sunset and saw lots of bears on the ride down, so be careful! Highly recommend!!
My brother and I just rode this stretch last month. We were staying in Rosswood.Weather was iffy, but turned out to be great later on. Absolutely excellent road!!, smooth pavement, lots of good corners. And very friendly Locals. Will do this again ..
A hidden Gem!!! For the above average rider. Take it mid day in the summer months. Can be wet and foggy near the coast. Many corners. Watch for fallen rock. Smooth pavement. Keep alert. Scenic, historic, wonderful! Fuel available inland at the new town lava beds gas station. Stop in at the the Rosswood store for a break nand ask for directions too view Hermit Phils stripper pole pine forest.
A Beaut! This route is a hidden gem for the above average rider. There may be fog or rain in the fall and spring. Best take it mid afternoon during the summer months. Historic, scenic, wind your way through the lava beds. Newly paved with LOTS of corners. Watch for fallen rocks! Stay on line!! Stop in at the Rosswood General store for a break and ask for directions to visit Hermit Phils Stripper Pole Forest. Kincolith is a sleepy native fishing village. Fuel available inland at the lava bed gas station.
