In the popular trend of naming roads, this is called the ´devil´s triangle´. Leaving Petros ( I´ll be heading south to north, opposite of the reviewer), you can see how twisty the road is as it climbs and then descends a pass. In 2010, when the author wrote this review, the pavement was terrible. The road has since been redone with new pavement and new guard rails. It´s still a very twisty and technical road. It´s certainly tighter, less banked, and with less visibility than Deals Gap (the dragon). Before you start climbing from Petros, take a look at the remains of Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary. This is where James Earl Ray (MLK Jr´s killer) was incarcerated. In ´Silence of the Lambs´, Hannibal Lector agreed to help if he could be transferred to this facility ( because of the mountain view). After doing the gap, do it again. A great stretch of road. Heading north, it has a long (and pleasing) ride along a fairly large creek. Enjoy.
Not much run off and poor surface in places, but hey I like that, it reminds me of Europe!
