Great route, with lots of fun twisties. Remember to visit the biker-themed café The Filling Station https://www.facebook.com/TheFillingStationCafe?ref=ts&fref=ts It has some seriously good food, and large coffees to warm you if the weather has been cool.
A testing road with several corners that tighten up out of nowhere and regularly busy with tourist traffic in summer months. Once it opens up after Buttermere look out for the big jump that you can get some big air off!
Yup Mr Luchini the icecream man in the layby. Some nice roads up here, this route needs quite a bit of concentration!
This route is the notorious run through Borrowdale Forest and up over Honnister Pass - NOT to be taken lightly even under optimal conditions! But Rabbit, you did miss a trick - if you turn right in Lorton, you get to complete a loop back to Keswick which takes you up and down Whinlatter Pass. The view over the Skiddaw Fells from the top is breathtaking, plus theres usually a home-made ice-cream van on the car-park. See my vids here, enjoy!
Really enjoyed this one. Lot of very steep hills and very tight corners bounded by stone walls. Some good views over the lake and good places to stop for a picnic. Beware the sheep sunbathing by the road Would recommend it but not for speed
A great scenic route, through Cumbria, ignore the two points on the image, I was having some problems getting the image to display correctly. The actual route does a circuit from Keswick, down to Grange, Buttermere and up to Cockermouth, it's a much lengthier and more interesting alternative to the A66. Enjoy!
