To be honest, this is a route for getting somewhere else. Once upon a time it may have been better but the shear volume of traffic spoils the ride for me at least. Aside from the occasional parts where the views open up and you get a glimps of the surrey hills there is nothing really of note. It does however lead to my favourite route in the local area so its not all bad!

Connor.

Quite interesting. Used it to go Leatherhead to Guildford and then south. Traffic can spoil the fun though.

I've done these two roads many times in a loop when I've been down Boxhill on Sundays etc and felt like a spin. It's quite good, though often very busy with traffic and it's fair share of police. There are many bikers use these roads cos of it's proximity to Boxhill and everyone knows it. Most of the locals move over to let you past but be aware the Police have been dishing out asbos to bikers here, as they are trying to cut the numbers using these roads. There's another bikers stop/picnic area/burger bar at the top of the hill on the A25 (they're food is way more palatable than Ryka's!). If you feel like a peacefull moment check out the Silent pool at the bottom of same hill.

Well the scenery is great (in parts) but for the most part (including most of the A25 section) you are in 30 or 40 limits. The traffic is also pretty busy. The A25 is popular mainly as a route from Newlands corner to Boxhill, but apart from that it's pretty average. There is better out there!!!!!

If you're happy to keep your speed down through villages and be patient and careful with overtakes this is a really nice ride, one of my favourites, taking in some gorgeous scenery and some fun twisties. Box Hill is a must if you're in the area, beautiful views out toward the south downs but be careful on the zig-zag up the hill, nasty little hairpins and a thin road with a slightly dodgy surface. The only trouble is it's short and Guilford at the other end is hideous to look at or ride through. The Infinity kit store off the A3 in Guildford is worth stopping by, and Rykas café at the bottom of Box Hill is great for a much needed cup of tea and a bacon sarnie. have a look at www.boxhill.co.uk for events there.

From Guildford follow Leatherhead (start on the A25 then the A246) After Merrow, about 2km take right hand lane at the lights on to the A25 to Dorking. The roads rises up towards Newlands corner (nice place to stop for good views), some picturesque Surrey villages (watch your speed) as you leave Dorking take the A24 and at the second roundabout you will find the well known Box Hill car park, a great biker meeting point. Enjoy
