The famous road was built in 1938. It was supposed to serve the Italian army against the army of Yugoslavia during WW2. Nowadays you pay 10€ and it’s totally worth it. Last one K is closed due to a small landslide but motorbikes can sleep through. Amazing scenery and the high peaks of Julian Alps ahead of you. Of course don’t anticipate any speeding or hard cornering here, just enjoy the view.
It is the highest point you can reach in Slovenia with your bike and it is an absolute remarkable experience - a must ride for every biker.
I passed in Sept 2011 & did not pay to ride it. This ride is incredible, you wonder why did they bother to build this road in the rock when it does not lead to the other side of the mountain. A lot of curves but you can't see whose coming down. You are riding IN the Julian Alps. When you reach the top,get off your bike and walk 2 min to check the panorama (Austria, Italy, Slovenia), you won't forget this one !
Have you ever imagine yourself looking the earth from above like an astronaut? If yes then that's the road you have to drive. In the top of the mountain you will feel like an astronaut. PS you have to pay €5 tolls for this road
