climb up to west side brilliant road, every corner and crest different. gorge road fantastic but too big a drop to go for it. east end links up to a great road to draguignon.
johncollisterWest side winds up through trees, very challenging road, every corner different and unpredictable. A fantastic bit of road to have a go on but you really have to concentrate.
Around the gorge far too dangerous to go for it, views spectacular though. Make sure you stop and have a look over the edge.
Ive only driven this road once.. it was on a trip that I made with some friends. Its a great road, mostly because of the beautiful scenery, It has a lot of traffic (maybe because it was on holidays), the tarmac its good. I would love to return there one day.
DiabloRiderDon't forget to leave the mail road indicated on the map to join the georges road. It makes a small loop that is mostly oneway and there from you have a spectacular view of what is the greatest canyon of Europe. We used to see up to six eagles once, what it is really rare :-D It is also possible to rent a boat on lake St-Croix and enter in the canyon form the river... simply wonderfull!!
ChrisVery nice road along the north side of the famous Gorges du Verdon. Rock wall on one side, steep canyon down to the river Verdon on the other. Can be too busy in summer, much too nice a road to get stuck between campers and caravans!
