If you like twisties, this is your spot. I have done both directions of this 25 miles stretch and prefer going up, or north. Last trip was early May 2014. LOTS of blind turns and cars do tend to cover the center, so be cautious near the inside line. Some occasional sand and some washout spots that have been repaired, so as normal, ride with some caution. In 25 miles, three cars came the other direction and that was on a Sunday afternoon. Weekdays are your best bet to avoid them altogether. The northern end brings you right near the entrance of Kings Canyon NP. Pack your tent, it´s a great time!
This is a great road in the spring and fall. In the summer there is a lot more cars.
About 30 miles of serious hairpin fun heading out of Woodlake into the Sequoia national park. This road then joins the 180 which is more of the same grinning fun.
