Really like this road makes a nice change from the A49 to get back to Abergavenny, a lot slower but rewarding to ride, you really feel in the back of beyond. I use this now as part of a favorite ride out, start at Abergavenny up to Builth Wells, on Newtown McDonalds for Coffee, then through Churchstoke onto Bishops Castle,Clun,Knighton & finishing off in Abergavenny a great day out riding some of the uk's best roads, Enjoy.
I use this road as part of my "run out" when taking vistors out for a ride, starting from Shrewsbury, up the Hope Valley, and then dropping down to "the Castle". In my opinion, best done N to S and then skip across Penybont Common towards Crossgates for a cuppa and a bite. Then you really have some nice choices...
A personal fave but i like it twisty, rode this from Knighton north, at a good pace its like a roller coaster, yippee!
spent a weekend riding with 2 friends from yorkshire to wales and of all the roads we went on this one got the top rating from all of us. Well worth going out of your way for
A nice romp through the Shropshire Hills. Nothing too challenging, just nice sweeping bends. Tarmac is a bit rough in places, but not enough to deter from the enjoyment.
